C-A-L, Crochet a-long, Crochet-Along, Crochetalong…no matter how you put it, a crochet along is bound to be lots of fun!
I have wanted to do one of these awesome CAL’s for awhile now and lets face it…it is a whole heck of a lot of fun!
I will be honest…this is my first time! That is right my friends I am a virgin CAL-er…but lets break that purity streak today and get to work!
So here is the who, what, when, where, why, and how of it all!
The Pattern (who): My wonderful pattern, that was chosen as the Ravelry Pattern Pick, the Ruga Hat!If you are not signed up for Ravelry just take a moment to do it and then you will be able to get the pattern! The pattern is on sale for $2.99 USD as of now but for one day…yes just one measily day…I will be listing the pattern for free! That way all of you crocheter’s out there can get your fingers to run and grab it! Fun right?
The Ruga Hat!
The Materials (what): You will need the following to complete this pattern:
Yarn
Two skeins of a DK (CYCA 3) Yarn! I chose Cephalopod Yarns Traveller; 1 skein Arkham #C07 (MC) 1 skein Gallifrey #C18 (CC) (100g/280 yds) (CYCA 3) for the sample!
Notions
Size 7 U.S. (4.5 mm) Hook or size needed to obtain gauge
Tapestry Needle
The Time Frame (when): For the month of February we will split it all up as follows:
Feb. 4-10: Get acquainted with the pattern, gather yarn, get your notions and such, join the Ravelry group, like us on Facebook, swatch…swatch…and swatch some more.
Feb. 11-17: Begin the band and work through the kinda complicated band!
Feb. 18-24: Finish the hat, take photos, add projects on Ravelry and Facebook!
Feb. 25-28: Announce Winners and hand our prizes!
Facebook and Ravelry (where): So for this…its simple! Like us on Facebook and join our Ravelry group (whichever is your preference!) and share your progress as you go! I will answer questions as we go and we can work together to answer questions as well!
CAUSE!!(why): Thats why!! Oh did I mention there are going to be prizes? I will let you know what they are on Monday when we begin but let me say this…it includes yarn, hooks, books, and more! 
We will have three prize levels to compete for.
Rohn’s Choice: I will choose the hat/photo I like best!
Participants Choice: We will have a fan vote to see which hat/photo you “like” best!!
Random Choice: I will put all the names into the invisible internet hat and pick a random winner out of them all!
The Rules (how): We have to have rules…it is necessary in anything that we do. Here are the rules:
1. You must be nice…any negativity or mean-ness will not be tolerated.
2. Lets keep all conversation geared toward the awesomeness of all our craftiness!
3. You must download the pattern on FEBRUARY 4th, if you miss this date…then you are out of luck! You will have to purchase it for $2.99 otherwise.
4. To be eligible for the prizes you have to have a photo of the finished project, post it to the Ravelry or Facebook group with your first name and info about yarn and such! You need to be 18 years of age or older…oh and in the U.S.A. to be eligible for prizes and such.
